The Morning Hunt

Duck and Goose Hunting Saskatchewan

Good morning fellas, grab a bite to eat in the lodge, fill your thermos and coffee mugs and lets roll!

Mornings begin early as most waterfowl hunts do. We will arrive to our hunt location of choice with plenty of time to have our spread and hide set for the morning hunt. No slacking on the hide as that’s by far the most important part of any hunt. Depending on what we are targeting whether it will be dark geese or snowgeese we have up to date quality decoys, electronic calls and motion decoys to ensure birds come to join our party.

Once the setup is ready we have a quick briefing of what to expect for the hunt and sit back and take it all in. Saskatchewan is known for the “big skies”, enjoy the morning sunrise and get loaded, you’re in for a treat. After our limits have been reached, or its time to give those shooting shoulders a rest we will pick-up our gear and head back to the lodge.

Midday

Once we return to the lodge we will have a full hearty brunch ready to go. Gather around the table, fill your plates with food and your coffee cup with a hot coffee and tell the stories of the morning hunt. These are some of the most enjoyable times of the trip “shooting the breeze” and reminiscing of the morning hunt.

Once brunch has finished up your guides and lodge owners will have a quick meeting with your group to let you know departure times and our plans for the afternoon hunt. Enjoy an “afternoon siesta” aka a nap, or sit out on the patio overlooking some of Canada’s gorgeous northern scenary. There’s internet and phone service available on the lodge grounds if any midday business must be tended to.

Afternoon Hunt

“No rest for the wicked.” Pack your gear and load up your belongings it’s time to hit the road. We will once again head to our hunt location with time to spare. We will spend time and put forth the effort to make sure everything is set and looking perfect for the afternoon hunt. Typically we target ducks in the afternoon, however the guides and lodge owners will make the call based off of the best absolute option for the most enjoyable, successful hunt to be had. Once we have reached our limits or legal shooting has expired we will gather our gear and head back to the lodge.

Evening

Once we have returned to the lodge from our afternoon hunt you will be welcomed by a warm well prepared meal to close off the day. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your hard earned dinner with a beverage of your choice. Top off your meal with dessert and take it all in. Once again your guides and lodge owners will brief you on the mornings plan and time of departure and enjoy the lodge to yourselves.
